Real Groovy (Christchurch) 5pm and the Jetset Lounge from 8:30pm, 3 September September 3rd marks the release of “Rock Star”, the debut album from Christchurch 6-piece 4ManBob. The album will be going nationwide on that date with distribution through Kickstart Records. The album release will be supported by the release of the single “Rock Star” and accompanying video, directed by Richard Bell at Shuriken. 2005 has been a watershed year for the band, who have been working independently since early 2001, nurturing a growing loyal fan base largely on the strength of their relentless touring and their intense live shows. Working through a recent line-up change, which resulted in the addition of Haley O’Neill (trumpet) and Lauryn Williamson (Tenor Sax), 4ManBob has continued touring, promoting the new album, and working on new material to mounting acclaim and recognition within the industry To celebrate the release of the album, single and video, the band will be performing in-store at Real Groovy at 5pm, followed by an R18 party at the Jetset Lounge, which will kick off with a BBQ at 8:30pm. Support at the Jetset show will be from Runway and Canterbury Rockquest Winners Troop 14. New 4ManBob merchandise will be available at both shows, with special deals available on that day only. There will be a draw on the night at the Jetset for a double pass to 4ManBob’s 2nd Ultimate Road Trip, which will be hitting the road touring South Island ski fields in late Sept (details to come…) The Real Groovy gig is free The Jetset Lounge show is $5 and includes entry to the show, access to the BBQ and a free drink
