The Neutral Bay Club

This is the second time posting my review (after initially being asked to take it down):

My daughter attended a tennis camp at the club back in January this year. She was left unattended with a few other kids at the end of the day. The kids ended up playing on a metal gate on one of the courts and as you can maybe anticipate this didn't end well. She got hit by the gate which resulted in one of her adult tooth coming out, completely. I have been trying to liaise with the team at the club, Greg Stephenson, the tennis coach, and Glenn Jackson, the tennis manager, to put through an insurance claim to help with the growing financial cost of having to fix my daughter's tooth.

I was promised by Glen and Greg back in January that they'd be looking after my daughter but here we are 10 months later. 10 months, I am still pulling teeth to get someone to give me an update on this supposed insurance claim.

10 months later and I have yet to see any reimbursement of any sort for what has happened to my daughter and with the growing cost this is now over $2,000. I am at my wits end at this stage and really starting to wonder how such a lack of care and communication is possible.

UPDATE (12 May 2025):
I am still battling with the club on compensation for my daughter's tooth. It's been nearly 1.5 years and I am still no closer to getting an update or a call back. After the insurance company covered 80% of the treatment I am now out of pocket by about $500. Glenn said he will follow up but here I am putting my review back up as my daughter is still living with the ongoing discomfort of having lost her perfectly fine adult tooth.

We had our Baby’s first birthday here last Sunday and I must say, I have chosen the best place to do it. Booked half the club with the balcony overlooking the lawn, just the perfect spot for it. I initially was so worried thinking the space wouldnt fit 50 people seated as the backdrop was big and 50 people food turned out to be 3x the table set up of what they set up for me, making it less space for seating. All turned out great in the end, thanks to the girl behind the bar! . A big thanks to Lusso kitchen team, Peter the GM, Michelle the Marketing manager, Sonia catering coordinator and again, the girl behind the bar and counter. Everyone had a fantastic time and loved the space! Sharing some photos of the space and the great spread from their catering menu, with what you can expect for 50 pax mixed seated and cocktail set-up.

We had pizza here on Sunday the 1.6.2025. It was absolutely fantastic, made with love and thought. Thankyou pizza man 😍

What is usually a pleasant experience at NBC was unfortunately ruined this weekend by the person who you'd think would represent the business in a positive light the most, Peter the GM of the club (he also responds to reviews: "Hi Pete" ).

It must have been a slow day in the office for him because he spent the majority of his time telling parents and children off for being on the green, on one occasion hurling a bowl in the direction of a 4 year old boy almost hitting him.

With an understanding there are club rules that need to be followed, this bullying and asserting dominance towards his customers (who are 90% families btw) needs to be worked on.

There are ways to address situations like these and I think he needs to adjust his approach.

Hi Pete

Apologies for the delay, I have a bit of trouble deciphering replies  that do not include grammar.

I think you may have misunderstood the initial feedback which was around approach, not context.

Using the same scenario (which is this case wasn't our group, you have confused us with the other 40 families that were there) and a different person with a better attitude this would have resulted in a different outcome.

Remember this was all about approach, not context.

To note, I will not be responding to what I assume will be another reply with zero accountability.

I think for your sake you should save your response and simply deal with the problem at hand which is your behaviour towards your customers.

Kid friendly good casual atmosphere. Bowls and tennis club in the heart of Neutral Bay. Food is good quality club food. Friendly service. Worth a visit.
